Perreira, one of our longest-serving Advocacy Co-ordinators (who regrettably left the organisation last week), first joined Detention Action in 2009, in the immediate aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war.

In this Frontline Update, she gives an outline of the varying number of Sri Lankan clients we’ve worked with since then, the worrying recent spike in Sri Lankan clients we’ve seen since the turn of the year and the disturbing number of them still in detention despite having disclosed experiences of torture.
